Peabody
Library Restoration
The Georgetown Peabody Library is an historically significant structure
to
the history of Georgetown, according to the Massachusetts Historical
Commission. The Romanesque building, built in 1904, requires
renovation and
restoration work never performed during its history. Restoration
efforts
will include repairing the slate roof, restoring the original windows,
patching plaster ceilings, restoring the roman columns, and restoring
and
reconfiguring existing antique shelving.
