Tennis Facility at American
Legion Park Project
The Georgetown Park and Recreation Commission wishes to
apply for CPC funds in order to create a new active recreation area at
the American Legion Park.This would involve renovating an old, un-used
abandoned site, creating two single tennis courts.There are currently no
other public tennis courts in Georgetown. The Park and Rec Commission feels
that there is a need for this form of active recreation as it spans all
age groups and is enjoyed as an activity by many. The money also would
be used to build an appropriate foundation for the new facility, including
drainage improvements ; landscaping of the peripheral area to accommodate
for picnic tables, a bike rack, etc.
